Getting the Attention of Journalists and Bloggers

It’s a question that comes up on a very regular basis: How do I get the attention of journalists and bloggers? I want them to review my app, but none of them seem interested! Product launch is an exciting time. Marketing and PR efforts are in full swing and hopes are high. However, when you don’t hear back from news outlets or bloggers for months on end, the lack of press can be disheartening and bad for business. So, what do the guys down the street (who have a product similar to yours and are getting reviews out the wazoo) know that you don’t? How does one get attention from journalists and bloggers? Being a writers myself, I’ve seen terrible pitches and great pitches and have spoken with fellow bloggers and journalists about what really grabs our attention. Journalists and bloggers are a pipeline to your target audience and you should never stop pursuing press opportunities.
